A man is dead after driving his motorcycle into trees and landing in a ditch.

Police say the man had a suspended license, but was still driving down the 1600 block of Jerrys Road just before 8 on Monday night. Investigations also indicate the man was driving an unregistered 1991 Honda sports bike during the crash.

They say while the man was driving, he left the road for an unknown reason, hit two trees, was ejected from the motorcycle, and then landed in a ditch.

The man driving the motorcycle was transported by Maryland State Police helicopter to Shock Trauma where he later died from his injuries. He was later identified as 28-year-old Dakota Eugene Paul.

Police say they believe excessive speed and operator error contributed to the crash, but an investigation is still ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has any information is encouraged to call the Harford County Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit at 443-409-3324.
