BEL AIR, Md. — Maryland State Police are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that killed a man early Sunday morning.
Police say troopers were called to the reported crash in the area of northbound Route 1 Bel Air Road north of Rock Spring Road just before 2 a.m. At the scene, the driver of the motorcycle, identified as 44-year-old Michael Lynn Maples was pronounced dead.
An investigation into the crash revealed that Maples lost control of the motorcycle before going off the road and hitting a light pole.
This is an ongoing investigation as police learn more on the cause of the crash.
