Out of tragedy, nine high school students wanted to bring hope.  The Harmonics from North Harford High School got together to spread unity through music after the school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

The group chose the song, "Imagine," by John Lennon a song it says evokes hope and peace in so many.

"It’s as John Lennon intended.  To spread peace and love and be singing it we wanted them to know that there’s a way to heal through music," senior, Hannah Hieronimus, told ABC2.

Last week, a former student opened fire on a high school in south Florida—killing 17  and injuring 14 others.

"I thought this could be me and my friends this could be anybody," junior, Abigail Vaughan, said.

More than a thousand miles away, North Hartford students dedicated their talent to help ease the grief.

"Peers their age are trying to spread love and help them heal and are there with them in this horrible time," Hieronimus said.

The nine close knit students have offered up their talents all over the community and now across social media.

"All it takes is one of us being kind and it’s contagious and I just love that that’s what happened with this video with their talents," North Harford High School choral director, Angie Jones, said.

Their latest labor of love; a tribute to those lost at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that's now gone viral; seen tens of thousands of  times.

"Our whole choir just wanted to spread unity and love and showing that America is stronger than one awful person with a gun," Vaughan said.
