HARFORD COUNTY, Md. — Deputies in middle and high schools has become a commonality, but now deputies will be stopping by elementary schools in Harford County.

The Sheriff's Office announced an expansion to its school resource officer program today. There are now three additional officers that will visit 27 elementary schools in the county.

"It's good to know that our kids will feel safer, parents will feel safer and will just be a good face of the community," said SRO Harford County Schools and deputy FC Diana Ciaramellano.

The three positions were funded by a state grant from the Maryland Center for School Safety.
