Harford county is encouraging parents to talk about drugs and alcohol at the dinner table Wednesday night.
A simple conversation, Barry Glassman, the Harford County Executive, says can have lasting effects.
"Currently research shows that 50% of the children that actually talk to their parents about drugs and alcohol are least likely to be involved in drugs down the road, and have the refusal skills to say no when first offered drugs."
But having this conversation can be challenging and Harford County is helping.
They have conversation starters, activities and resources for kids of all ages.
