Proposal to name highway after 2 slain deputies

State Sen. Wayne Norman of Harford County has proposed a bill to name a portion of Emmorton Road to honor two Harford County sheriff's deputies killed in the line of duty last week.

Norman wrote on Facebook Friday that he has the support of all 47 of his fellow senators. 

"I have NEVER seen a UNANIMOUS bill in my ten years in the legislature," Norman wrote.

Norman said the bill will be a Harford County delegation bill, submitted as a tribute to the two officers and to all law enforcement officers.

If the bill passes, that portion of Emmorton Road from the intersection of Singer Road to the junction with Route 24 will be known as Heroes Highway.
