Harford Co. leaders joined forces to fight opioid addiction

Posted

Rotary leaders in Harford County came together with various organizations against opioid addiction Wednesday evening.

The event was called "Saving Lives Together." It showcased those dealing with addiction and those living with it.

Four Rotary clubs: Aberdeen, Bel Air, Havre de Grace, and Southern Harford County were represented. The event was open to the public and raised important questions, while guests listened to powerful stories of survival.

"It was because of resources in Harford County and treatment centers and rehabs and halfway houses and funding opportunities for people trying to get sober that really have given us the opportunity to get clean," said Myra Derbyshire, recovering addict.

Mountain Christian Church hosted the event.
