Fundraising continues for unity tour to benefit fallen Harford County deputies

Posted

Fundraising is continuing for the Harford County Police Unity Tour Riders' annual ride in honor of fallen law enforcement officers.

This year, members of the Harford County Sheriff's Office and others are training to take part in the May tour to honor Mark Logsdon and Patrick Dailey, who were killed in an encounter with an armed suspect one year ago Friday.

To participate in the ride, they must raise $45,000.

So far, a GoFundMe page has raised just over $1,500

Deputies with the Harford County Sheriff's Office formed the Harford County Police Unity Tour Riders in 2013 after the agency lost two of their own in September 2012.

The Harford County Police Unity Tour Riders will begin their ride from Philadelphia on May 8 and end at the site of the Fallen Officer’s Memorial in Washington, D.C. on May 12.

The tour raises awareness of law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty, and also raises funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial and Museum.
