EDGEWOOD, Md. (WMAR) — One person is dead after a car overturned and caught fire Thursday in Edgewood.
It happened a little before noon on Route 24 near Emmorton Road.
Maryland State Police arrived to find that two people had been thrown from the vehicle.
One was the driver, who was pronounced dead on scene. The second, a female passenger was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where her condition is unknown.
Neither of the victim's names have been released at this time.
An investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling south on Route 24 when for some reason it left the road and overturned.
The crash caused route 24 to be shut down which delayed some Harford County Public School buses from getting students home on time.
It's unclear what caused the crash.
