Bryan Dailey just turned 21 years old.

A year ago, he lost his father.

February 10, 2016, Senior Deputy Pat Dailey responded to a call at the Abingdon Panera Bread around 11:46 a.m. He entered the restaurant and was shot by the suspect. Dailey was killed at the scene.

Harford County lost a hero, but Bryan lost his best friend, his father.

See video above for Bryan's first television interview with anchor Jamie Costello.

Friday is the first anniversary of his death. It's the second worst day of Bryan's life. He's bracing for all of the emotions, the pain, the hurt.

After his father's death, Bryan's godparents stepped in to take care of him. He plans to enter the military.
