Bel Air police searching for vehicle involved in a fatal hit & run

BEL AIR, Md. — The Bel Air Police Department is reviewing traffic camera footage in hopes of locating the pickup truck and driver involved in a fatal hit and run.

On Wednesday, at around 12:15 a.m., officers were called to S. Main Street, between Office Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, for a reported pedestrian collision.

Upon arrival, officers found a 24-year-old Alex Lori lying in the street.

The preliminary investigation revealed Lori had was struck and dragged 100 feet by the pickup truck.

According to witness accounts and information from a family member Lori may have been pushed into S. Main along with another individual before being hit.

Police said the driver made no effort to stop and was last seen heading north on S. Main.

“Right now the most important thing is that we gather information so that we can figure out how this happened and bring justice to the family along with some peace for those impacted,” said Patti Parker, Communications and Public Relations Manager for the Town of Bel Air.
