In our area, one of the many 9-11 events happened above an overpass over I-95 in Harford County.
People waved at drivers below along I-95 who honked in support of those who lost their lives 17 years ago. Residents of all ages, waving American flags gathered on both sides.
Volunteer Firefighters and community groups also helped to organize the flag-waving tribute.
"We were brutally attacked. We did nothing to cause it. It was against civilians. Our fireman and policemen were heroic. My father is a retired fireman. I think it's very important that we remember it and don't ever forget it," said Jane Hruz, Harford County resident.
The yearly event is organized by Pat McDonough.
McDonough says he plans to continue to do this for years to come as a way to honor those lost.
