70 MPH winds impact Harford County

Harford County was severely impacted by Friday's extreme wind gusts.

Winds reached 70 MPH, causing multiple trees to fall and power lines to go down resulting in road closures and damage to some homes and property.

Due to power outages and weather conditions, Harford County Schools dismissed students at 2:00 PM.

County Executive Barry Glassman tells ABC2 additional staff has been deployed to assist in handling of increased 911 calls for weather related emergencies.

Throughout the county, BGE reports 11,000 customers are without power while Delmarva Power is working on restoring 5,000 households.
