Shattered glass and a busted wall is what's left after thieves broke into Shore Stop, a gas station and convenience store on Kent Island. They were after an ATM just inside the door.

"ATM's are heavy, they are made of steel. I mean, you got to put a lot of effort in to get a little bit of money out. Not a bright move to take an ATM from a business,"  said Queen Anne's County Sheriff, Gary Hofmann.

He says they didn't get too far with the ATM from Shore Stop. Sheriff's deputies found it about 100 feet outside the store.

About 45 minutes after the theft at Shore Stop, an ATM was stolen from Pep Up in Cambridge.

Sheriff Hofmann says, "We believe they are related."

The Sheriff's Department says they are looking for a dark or gray pick up truck.
