The Kent Island High School men's varsity lacrosse team was honored Wednesday at the Maryland General Assembly.
Last year, they won the state championship for the second year in a row.
They beat River Hill High School 20 to 7, setting a record for most goals scored by one team in a state championship game.
The team also has a GPA average of more than 3.5.
Kent Island opens up its 2016 season against Broadneck at Broadneck High School Thursday at 7 p.m.
