Firefighter hospitalized after horse stable fire in Port Deposit

PORT DEPOSIT, Md. — The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a horse stable fire that injured a firefighter at the scene.

Officials say firefighters with the Water Witch Fire Company responded to the reported fire at Anchor & Hope Farm Inc. around 12:26 p.m. Monday.

It was reported that the fire originated from the inside. With the help of 50 firefighters, the flames were under control in about an hour-and-a-half. One firefighter was taken to a local hospital for treatment and has since been released.

It is unknown if there were any injuries to horses at the stable.
