Family of terminally ill boy thanks supporters

Posted

Ryan Casteel turns 5 on Sunday.  But this early birthday party isn't for Ryan, it's for all of Cecil County to celebrate life.

Ryan is just like every other kid.  He has a cape that his bus driver made for him to wear in his school picture today.  While Ryan was getting his picture taken, his dad was making plans at hospice.

Ryan was diagnosed with a rare disease that has no cure.  Ryan's dad who fought in Afghanistan is now fighting for his son.

This Sunday at church, the Casteel's will tell the entire community "thank you."  They are planning to raise money for every charity that helped Ryan through his life and other kids who are in Ryan's shoes.

Here's wishing you a happy fifth birthday, Ryan.
