One hundred new jobs are coming to Cecil County. Lidl US is set to invest $100 million to build a new regional headquarters and distribution center in Maryland, according to a press release from the governor's office.

It's all part of Lidl's U.S. expansion and the company plans to open its first stores no later than 2018. Lidl is a grocery store that operates in 27 countries throughout Europe.

The new facility will open in the Principio Business Park and bring in 100 full-time jobs over the next three years.

The Maryland Department of Commerce approved a $360,00 conditional loan through the Maryland Economic Development Assistance Authority and Fund to help project costs. The Cecil County Office of Economic Development is also providing a $20,000 Workforce Training Partnership grant, along with a $16,000 conditional loan.
