NORTH EAST, Md. — Maryland State Police arrested 6 men for a violent home invasion and the assault of a pregnant woman in North East in April.

Police said during the invasion a man was held hostage and a pregnant woman was assaulted resulting in an emergency c-section due to her injuries. Police said the woman was kicked in the stomach at some point during the attack. A 7 year old was also inside the apartment at the time of the attack. Two of the suspects were armed.

Troopers say that some of the suspects have gang affiliations and right now all 6 are being held in Cecil County on a no-bond status.

Troopers conducted a multi-jurisdictional investigation involving analysis of hundreds of hours of surveillance, dozens of interviews and additional law enforcement case efforts.

The investigation resulted in the recovery of evidence of the home invasion and additional evidence of drug dealing by the suspects.

Nearly eight pounds of marijuana, with an approximate street value of $14,000, a loaded .40 caliber handgun, CDS packaging materials, electronics, and clothing worn by suspects during the home invasion were seized by law enforcement during search and seizure warrants of residences associated through the investigation with the suspects.

Additional arrests are expected in the near future. Troopers identified and are actively investigating links between the armed home invasion and illegal drug distribution enterprises.
