A 50-year-old woman died after she was hit by a car in Finksburg Tuesday night.
The Carroll County Sheriff's Office said emergency officials responded to Kay Mills Road south of MD Route 140 after reports of a car hitting a pedestrian just before 8:00 p.m.
When deputies got to the scene they discovered that a 2004 Acura TL driven by Jason Patrick Sagel hit a 50-year-old woman.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name will not be released until her family is notified.
Preliminary investigations show that Sagel was driving northbound on Kays Mill Road and hit the woman who was walking southbound in the northbound travel lane.
Deputies say the weather was clear, and the road was dry.
