Do you think you are more fit than a Maryland State Trooper? On Saturday you can test your skills and find out.
Starting at 10:00 in the morning, the Maryland State Police Fitness Challenge will get off to a sweaty start.

Participants will have to complete the following:
- 50 burpees
- 40 push ups
- 30 squats
- 20 sit-ups
- 10 squat jumps
Then, they will run across a field, up a flight of stairs and into the Academy gymnasium. Once inside the gymnasium, participants will perform the following exercises:
- 50 Russian jumping jacks (alternating jumping lunges)
- 40 push ups
- 30 squats
- 20 sit-ups
- 10 burpees
Lastly, they will exit the gymnasium and run approximately three quarters of a mile along the Academy grounds, to the finish line at the other end of the campus.
This one and a half mile obstacle run was designed by experienced Maryland State Police trainers who know what it takes to become a trooper.
The challenge course incorporates all the facets of the Maryland State Police Functional Fitness Assessment Test, and it simulates the physical demands placed on our law enforcement professionals.
The top 200 finishers will win a Maryland State Police Fitness Challenge t-shirt.
If you plan on participating, make sure too bring your printed registration attached to your shirt, a photo ID, and to be properly hydrated.
