This Veterans Day, a Maryland College is giving thanks by offering members of the armed services up to $100,000 in academic scholarships.

On Sunday in Westminster, McDaniel College introduced their Military Legacy Scholarship Program for their Fall 2019 enrollment.

Officials say all veterans and active military members along with their children are eligible and guaranteed to be awarded the scholarship.

A copy of a valid U.S. Military ID or DD-214 is required to confirm eligibility.

For first year or transfer applicants wishing to reside on campus, the scholarship awarded will be in the amount of $25,000 per year for up to four years and $100,000.

Students who commute will be offered $20,000 annually for up to four years and  $80,000.

In order to retain the scholarship each year, recipients must maintain continuous full-time enrollment at McDaniel College for up to eight consecutive semesters or until completion of a bachelors degree, whichever comes first.

There are no limits as to how many students may apply for the Scholarship.

The deadline to register however is February 1, 2019. To apply, click here.

McDaniel says the college offers a similar program for children of fulltime K-12 and community college employees
