Three dogs died in a Sykesville house fire Saturday.
The one-alarm fire broke out just after midnight at a single family home at 1124 Pouder Road.
Smoke alerted the home’s occupants to the fire, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal. Two people escaped through a door and broke a window to help a third person get out.
Three dogs perished, fire officials said. Two people were treated for lacerations from glass.
Officials said the fire started in the garage and took 50 minutes to extinguish.
Damage has been estimated at $200,000.
