The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a bicyclist and a vehicle collided early Friday morning in Taneytown. Police say first responders were called to Maryland Route 194 and Brown Rd for the accident just after 12:30 a.m. The driver of a 2009 Dodge Ram pickup truck had collided with a bicyclist as they were both driving north on Rt 194.
The bicyclist has been identified as 20-year-old Harrison Thomas Earls of Taneytown; he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck has been identified as 24-year-old Ty Schulte of Littlestown, Pennsylvania.
Police are continuing to investigate, anyone with information on the accident is asked to call Corporal Miller at 410-386-5900.
