Drivers in Baltimore County have extra reason to slow down when traveling near a Catonsville elementary school.
News speed cameras have been added to the north and southbound lanes of the 400 block of Harlem Lane in Catonsville, at Westowne Elementary School, Baltimore County Police said. The speed camera zones will be marked with signage to remind drivers.
For the first 30 days of the cameras' operations, drivers traveling at least 12 miles per hour over the posted speed limit will received warnings instead of citations.
Baltimore County speed cameras operate Monday through Friday, between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m., whether school is in session or not.
A full list of all of the county's speed camera locations can be found on the Baltimore County Government's website.
