Ducks frequently provide some noise to the neighborhood, but a particular waterfowl's ringing had the community concerned near The Avenue in White Marsh.

A young duck living at the pond behind The Avenue has had a bell stuck around its neck for several days. Community members had been monitoring the bird and trying to trap it so the bell could be removed, to no avail.

Concerns were relieved Sunday when a mother and her daughter were able to capture the duck and remove the bell.

"We are happy to share that these two wonderful humans have managed to remove the ribbon and bell attached to the duck!" The Avenue shared on Facebook. "On behalf of everyone involved – we thank them for their kindness and diligence. This is a happy ending."

The duo of mom Angela King and daughter Savannah Wiley were able to remove the small, round bell attached to a red ribbon, freeing the duck of the potential safety hazard.

The Avenue also reminded people to forego bringing bread down to the pond to feed the birds, as it has unhealthy effects for ducks and geese
