Essex barricade situation ends peacefully

A man with a gun was holed up in his Essex home Wednesday, shutting down streets in a small part of town through the late morning and afternoon hours.

At 11 a.m. Wednesday, Baltimore County Police said they received a call for shots fired on Anthony Avenue in the turkey point area of Essex.

 A victim told police he was shot at, but not injured.

Police responded and set up a staging area at Chesapeake High School.The suspect stayed in his home until the the brief barricade situation came to a peaceful close at 3 p.m. 

The man was taken to a area hospital for evaluation, and now faces charges of assault.
