Students at Patapsco High School had to be evacuated Friday morning after reports of smoke on the roof of the school.

Officials say smoke was coming from a tar pot used in a construction project. Contractors were able to extinguish the fire before the Fire Department arrived, but they showered it with additional water as a precaution.

No injuries were reported and students were able to go back into their classrooms shortly after they were evacuated.
