A home was struck by lightning during a Thursday afternoon storm in Baltimore County.
Police said around 4 p.m. lightning struck a tree in the in the 200 block of Marlyn Avenue in Essex. The electricity traveled from the tree into a nearby house.
A resident of the home was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution. Fire officials said the man was not struck by lightning,
