The Maryland Transit Administration officially launched Express BusLink service in the Baltimore region Monday.

Express BusLink is a new service that will “greatly improve suburb-to-suburb connectivity to accommodate regional transportation needs,” MTA officials said in a statement.

Three new bus routes will provide transportation between the MARC Train station at BWI to the Old Court Metro Subway Station; between Owings Mills and Towson; and from Towson to White Marsh.

Officials said these connections improve access to regional job centers and speed other rides for commuters.

Express BusLink is the first new service offered as a part of BaltimoreLink, a project announced by Gov. Larry Hogan in October 2015.
