TOWSON, Md. — More than $35,000 worth of narcotics were recovered by Eastern Correctional Institution correctional officers and K9 officers after a Riverdale woman attempted to smuggle the drugs into a prison.

22-year-old Tania Ramirez was released on Sunday, July 28 after being charged with possession with intent to deliver drugs into a state correctional facility.

According to a visiting room officer, Ramirez tossed two blue packages containing suboxone over the visiting room wall.

He retrieved the material and contacted the department’s drug sniffing K-9 unit who alerted on the packages, indicating the drugs.
