Maryland State Police are continuing to investigate the double fatal crash that happened on the northbound JFX in Baltimore County early Sunday morning.

At about 1:15 a.m., a trooper from the Golden Ring Barrack that was patrolling north on I-83 at Ruxton Road found the crash scene. The crash involved two vehicles. A man and a woman, who were in the same vehicle, were pronounced dead at the scene. The woman, 25-year-old Renee D. Harrell of Belcamp, Md., was found in the car and, after a search of the area, troopers found the man, 37-year-old Gary G. Boyd, of Baltimore, Md., in the stream bed below the roadway.

The driver of the other vehicle, 49-year-old Dana E. Parker, of Owings Mills, Md., refused treatment at the scene.

After further investigating, the Maryland State Police Crash Team found out that Boyd and Harrell were outside of the 2009 Toyota Camry that they'd driven because, apparently, they'd been involved in a crash and their now disabled car was facing perpendicular in the fast lane of the roadway. Although their exact locations at the time of the crash remain unknown, detectives know that they were near their car when it was struck by Parker's northbound traveling 2013 Hyundai. Both Harrell and Boyd were hit. Boyd was thrown off the bridge and fell into the river below.

The cause of the crash remains unknown, but nothing has been ruled out at this time.

The northbound JFK was closed at Northern Parkway due to the investigation and cleanup, but it was reopened at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
