A man was killed Saturday morning when he was struck by a vehicle on the Beltway according to Maryland State Police.
Police said the man pulled over on the Outer Loop of the Beltway near the Jones Falls Expressway exit early Saturday morning, when the jack he was using to change a tire rolled into the travel lanes.
When the man went to recover the jack, he was hit by a Chevrolet Malibu.
A state trooper was dispatched to the scene and upon arrival administered first aid to the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Malibu that hit the victim remained at the scene.
The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
