WOODLAWN, Md. — Maiden Choice School held a daytime prom for its students. They held it with Ridge Ruxton School at Martin's West on Tuesday.

Both schools received a lot of support and donations to make the dance special for students.

Maiden Choice School provides programs for children from ages three to 21 who have significant cognitive disabilities.

"We want our kids to have the same experience as those in the comprehensive high schools," said Jeffrey Matthews, a teacher at Maiden Choice. "The parents love to come out with their kids and celebrate also."

The prom was from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
