On Wednesday Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz announced a new initiative to help fight the opioid crisis.
The County plans to renovate the old Rosewood State Hospital in Owings Mills into a privately-operated drug treatment center. It will provide on-demand residential treatment for roughly 300 people a year and have about 70 beds.
The project is expected to cost between $2.5 to $3 million.
The facility is expected to open November 2019.
