Hundreds of people gathered in the back woods at Oregon Ridge Park Saturday morning to paint 52 trees in celebration of people recovering from substance abuse.
The Forest of Hope is a reminder for those who have walked through the darkness of their addictions and discovered light.
Every tree told a unique story about a person who has freed themselves from the grips of drugs and alcohol and are thriving in recovery.
Each tree was painted with a distinctive design that reflected the beauty, strength, and perseverance of those overcoming addiction in the face of insurmountable odds.
Attendees enjoyed a Recovery Celebration Picnic in the park following the painting of the trees
