Two people were taken to the hospital after a 3-alarm fire broke out at an apartment complex in the 100 block of Slade Avenue in Pikesville Tuesday night.
The fire started just after 10 p.m. in a fourth floor apartment and firefighters worked quickly to contain the blaze.
Fire officials said two people were taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. One person was burned and another treated for smoke inhalation. A third person was evaluated for injuries on the scene.
By 12:46 a.m. Wednesday, residents in the first three floors were allowed to return to their apartments. Some residents on the fourth floor were displaced and shelter arrangements were made.
It's not clear how many families are without a home. The air quality in the building has been deemed safe. Smoke levels on the fourth, fifth and sixth floors were still being cleared Tuesday night.
