HALETHORPE, Md. — A car crashed into the Halethorpe Fire Station on Thursday night.

It happened at 11:30 p.m. at the station on Washington Boulevard causing some damage to the building.

No one in the building was hurt but one civilian did suffer minor injuries.

There was a crash in the intersection outside of the building that caused the car to crash into it.

No one was in the building at the time of the crash because they were fighting a fire at a nearby business.

"Where the car came through the wall is a computer desk that sits there where our personnel enter fire reports, they do training. So, normally, around the clock, someone would have been sitting at that desk when the car came through the wall. So, we're very fortunate that our staff weren't here," said Lt. Travis Francis with the Baltimore County Fire Department.

The building is being repaired and there is no impact to fire service in Halethorpe.
