Memorial Day is in full swing and today a show of patriotism in Baltimore.

Boy Scouts of all ages and their families were out at the Baltimore National Cemetery. They dedicated their day to planting flags in front of every one of the more than 3,000 grave sights of Fallen Heroes.

Hundreds of volunteers and scouts were able to get the job done in a little under an hour.

“The key thing here is that the scouts need to know about the past and how they're a major part of the future. The parents who have served get an opportunity to explain in a living outdoors that can show them what is so beautiful About America. These people pay the ultimate sacrifice to make sure these scouts can congregate and celebrate as wonderful Americans.”

Those flags will remain until the following week.

There will be ceremonies of remembrance at the cemetery's across the area this weekend into next Tuesday when the flags will be collected.
