Baltimore County police officers, Good Samaritan rescue 2 people from burning home

Two Baltimore County police officers helped rescue two people from a burning home in Essex Tuesday night. 

Just before midnight, police and fire crews responded to a home in the 600 block of South Marlyn Avenue for a house fire. 

Upon arrive, two police officers and a Good Samaritan immediately went into the home and evacuated a 39-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man from the basement. The fire department later evacuated a 39-year-old woman from the first floor. She was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Her condition is unknown.

The other two people rescued were not injured. 

The two officers were transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for treatment of smoke inhalation. Both were later released.

The incident is under investigation. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
