Governor Larry Hogan declares August 1 "Henrietta Lacks Day."
Tuesday, part of Broening Highway in Dundalk will be dedicated "Henrietta Lacks Way".
In 1951, doctors at Johns Hopkins took Lacks' cells without her consent during a diagnostic procedure. The cells were crucial for major developments in vaccines, viruses and cancer treatments.
