OWINGS MILLS, Md. — A 19-year-old man and his dog were both killed in an Owings Mills crash late Friday night.

According to Baltimore County Police, at a little before 10:30 p.m., a Honda Accord was traveling southbound on Dolfield Boulevard when it struck a Hyundai Elantra that was turning left onto Mill Centre Drive from the northbound lane of Dolfield Boulevard.

Following the collision, the Hyundai, which was being driven by 19-year-old Zachary Pierce Friedlander, of the unit block of Bridle Court, was then pushed into a light pole.

Friedlander was pronounced dead at the scene and his black Labrador, which had also been in the car at the time of the accident, was ejected from the vehicle and also died at the scene. The 18-year-old driver of the Honda was transported to an area hospital and is currently in serious condition.

The Baltimore County police crash investigation team is continuing to work to find out the cause of this fatal crash.
