The WNBA stopped in Baltimore Tuesday to teach kids the importance of exercise and nutrition in a special fitness clinic.

The NBA FIT Clinic took place at the Penn North Kids Safe Zone, which was one of about 15 areas selected for the event this year.

"What I do on the basketball court every single day influences these young kids," said Washington Mystics center Krystal Thomas. "This is where it started. I remember being out here at their age playing on an outdoor court, learning the game and getting influenced by people in my position when I was young."

The Kids Safe Zone received basketballs, jump ropes, ladders and posters promoting health and fitness. The kids got t-shirts and a goodie bag with a healthy snacks after the event.
