Motorists in Baltimore will have to navigate several road closures due to events going on throughout the city the weekend of June 9 and 10.

HONFest 2018 comes to Hampden as the event celebrates its 25th anniversary. Between Falls Road and Chestnut Avenue, W. 36th Street, more commonly called "The Avenue," will be closed from 4 a.m. Saturday, June 9 until 8 p.m. Sunday, June 10.

The MCVET 5k Run/Walk and 10k Run begin at 7:30 a.m. Sunday. The races begin at the intersection of Lexington and Holiday Streets.

Because of the race, Holiday Street between Saratoga and Lexington Streets, and Lexington between Guilford Avenue and Gay Street will be closed from 5 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Also, at least one lane of traffic will be closed along the race route, which takes the following path:

-From the start, turn right on N. Frederick Street, right on E. Fayette Street, left on St. Paul/Light Street, left on Key Highway, right on Lawrence Street, left on Fort Avenue, then turn around near Fort McHenry.

-On the return leg, runners turn right on Woodall Street, left on Key Highway, right on Light Street, north on Calvert Street, and right on Lexington Street to finish.

Also, Wolfe Street between Madison and Monument Streets will be closed from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. due to a construction project's crane lift operation.

In all areas where there are closures, police advise motorists to avoid those streets, and if they have to travel through the neighborhood, use caution, watch out for pedestrians, and expect delays.

Additionally, I-295 may have temporary lane closures for landscaping Saturday and Sunday as well.
