Victim reportedly robbed, set on fire Thursday morning in East Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WMAR) — Police are investigating after a man reported being robbed and set on fire Thursday morning in East Baltimore.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of McElderry and Glover Streets just before 6:30 a.m.

The 59-year-old victim told police he was robbed of his wallet and headphones, during which time the suspect allegedly threw some form of liquid on the back of his head, causing it to catch fire.

Police say the victim was taken to a hospital, where it's estimated that he suffered burns to less than 3% of his head.

No arrests have been made thus far, as detectives continue to work the case.
