BALTIMORE — About 50 cars were destroyed in a recycling yard fire in East Baltimore, on Wednesday.

The fire happened at Frankford Towing, which is off Bel Air Road, near Glenmore Avenue. It burned right under the Moravia Road ramp.

There is concern that the beams holding up the roadway were damaged in the fire, so traffic is now being directed away from the Moravia Road ramp, leading to southbound I-95.

Officials say that it could be a while before the road is repaired and reopened.

There is no word on what caused the fire or if any injures occurred as a result.
