Adopt-A-Block gave away its 15th home to an unexpecting veteran and his family on Saturday.
Over the last 15 years, youth from all over the east coast have gathered together in Baltimore to rebuild a house for a family in need. This year's house is located on Cliftwood Avenue.
In a surprise twist, U.S. Army Veteran Dwight Tillman was awarded the home for him and his wife. He had been helping to build the house not knowing it was for him.
Mayor Catherine Pugh, City Council President Jack Young, Home Depot, the local VA President along with other dignitaries attended the ribbon cutting awarding the vet his very first home.
