BALTIMORE, Md — Upton Renaissance LLC will be the developer to revive the properties in the 800 blocks of Harlem and Edmonson Avenues in the Upton neighborhood.

In July 2018, the Baltimore City Department of Housing and Community Development issued a Request for Proposals to develop the area.

"This is where the true value is for home ownership, and I believe that the momentum is just beginning to build in a very profound way," said Kenneth Holt, Secretary of DHCD.

There are currently 38 city-owned vacant properties in Upton.

DHCD is providing $1 million to stabilize the units as part of an overall investment of more than $9.5 million.

The new homes will be right off of North Fremont Avenue behind Heritage Crossing, another recently developed community.
