BALTIMORE (WMAR) — Two men are dead after crashing into a tree Sunday morning in Northwest Baltimore.

Baltimore Police say they were called to the 5000 block of W. Northern Parkway twice within an hour.

An officer was first dispatched at 7:45 a.m., and after looking around and speaking with bystanders, couldn't find anything.

The officer reportedly spoke to a newspaper salesman who claimed to be in the area since 6 a.m. that morning and hadn't heard or seen any crash.

An hour later, police were again called for a crash at the same location.

This time they found an Acura sedan crashed into a tree on the side of the road, in a wooded area just beyond Liberty Heights Avenue.

Two men ages 28 and 30 were discovered inside the car, and taken to Sinai Hospital where they both died.

Police haven't yet released their names.

Based off what citizens told them at the initial call, investigators think the crash may have happened sometime overnight.

The Baltimore Police Department's Crash Team is investigating the cause of the collision.
