The Maryland Zoo welcomes 3 new African penguins

The Maryland Zoo has three new African penguins.

The first hatched on Oct. 20, the second on Oct. 22 and the third on Oct. 25.

For the first three weeks the penguins will be fed by their parents. After that, the chicks will be taken from the nest and taught that the zookeepers will be there primary food source.

The Maryland Zoo has been a leader in breeding African penguins for close to 50 years.
